So I finally picked up my camera after a couple of months with an actual paying job. I had to do a friends wedding for her. My wife and I had to go all the way to St. Louis to capture the event, then back to KC the next day for the ring ceremony. The first session went great! Most of all the pictures turned out great, and I am really happy about them, I have not gotten to look at the ones from Saturday. The Saturday ones where the hard ones, I have never used the flash that I had, plus I don't have much flash experience, but I think they turned out OK. We will see. I have come across a problem though. When I got home to start working on the pictures I noticed my computer is acting real bad, apparently I got a nice little virus that is not healable yet. So editing has come to a stand still, and I promised these in a couple of weeks. I am going to work real hard at getting the Compy back up and get some pics up for all to see. All I can say Is I am very proud with how most have come out thus far. And to the Bride, you know who you are, congratulations and thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell your story with light.

I have been trying to get more photography in my life lately, and am feeling very discouraged. I am working real hard on trying to figure out how to get on istockphoto.com but my applications keep getting turned down. I realize that I am not the greatest photographer but I am working on it. When they tell me why it did not get accepted they say "not enough insperation" WTF does that mean. I am trying to sell object photos to advertising companys and other people, who might want something weird. It is the weird stuff that makes you money on those sites. I post a pic. of a historic Zero plane and they say no center point of focus, What does that mean, the plane is in perfect focus, but their is not much to the background. I wish when someone critiques they could explain how to fix it. I love critique, but I never seem to get good critique. I will just keep working harder, the did accept one of my images, but even had a problem with that. I am discouraged but never had a drive this hard.

So I went out with a good friend of mine to go take pics of the Plaza Lights. I should have seen the bad omen when I got to the Plaza and had forgot my camera battery......So I had to go all the way back home to get it and come back. Then we get there and I take my equipment out of my trunk and as I start to move the legs of my tripod to a triangular stance one of my extension locks breaks. This is the first time using my tripod after I had just got my leg locks fixed from Manffrotto.....Gurrrr.
So I go to my local photography shop where I got it fixed earlier this month, and he is going to take care of me. It looks like I will get it fixed for free.... again. Now for the irony of the situation, as I walk in to the photography shop there is a sign right as you walk in that says "Don't forget your tripod when shooting the Plaza Lights." Ironic huh? Pics will be up in about a week or two, unless I work my ass off. As of right now I only have 3 edited for show. You know just noise reduction and some simple sharpening.

ATTENTON!!! ANYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO DO HDR PICS.
I know that HDRs are a 32bit pic, but if I reduce it to 16 for posting, does it cancel the HDR? Please let me know.

First Art journal post!
Tonight I am going out to the Kansas City Plaza to take pictures of the lights. Yay! I am very excited because I have not got to go out and do any art for a couple of weeks. It has been boiling to the top, and when I get like this I become very artistic. So hear goes, Plaza lights to come soon.
